Friends of Niños Adelante members include active and retired doctors, dentists, lawyers, businessmen and businesswomen, teachers and people from many other walks of life. Many of them want to find a way to make a difference in the lives of Niños Adelante students and families.

One very special Niños Adelante program is our dental program that completed its 6th year in February 2005 providing essential dental clinic thanks to Dr. John Cook and his wife and assistant, Liz Cook, founders of the dental clinic. Beginning in 2004, Dr. Cook's partner, Dr. Henry Milanowski, from Grand Rapids, Michigan, joined the dental clinic for two appointment-filled weekends.

The program would not exist, however, without the support of our two host dentists, Dr. Oliverio Soberanis and his wife, Dr. Azucena Acosta Mena, an orthodontist.  Together, the team examined and treated 30 of our Niños at the offices of our host dentists. Dr. Acosta has voluntarily treated several becados with serious dental problems over the years providing these children the treatment they desperately needed while accepting less than one-half of her normal fee.  The families of the niño contribute a small fee each month with the balance being paid by Niños Adelante. The smiles and thank you's from the niños and fellow sponsors bring the team a high level of satisfaction for months to come.
